NETWORK TOPOLOGY

Ring Topology

is a configuration in which the node (computers) are connected in a closed by communication lines. The transmission lines are short in this kind of network configuration and easily network. The drawback is that if just one node is fails, it might affect the entire network.

Mesh Type

in a mesh type, two or more paths lead to each node so that over all structures become that of a mesh. This means that even if a nodes fail, that can be passed by Routing (selection of communication path), meaning that the reliability of this type of network is easy high.

Star Type

each node is connected to a central nodes(line concentrator)in a star-shaped configuration. Even if a one node fails this will have no effect on the over all system but if the central node fails, the entire network will no longer be fuctional.

Bus Type

all nodes are connected to a common communication line. The bus configuration makes it easy to add or remove nodes w\o affecting the over all system and at the same it is economical. However, when there are many nodes and the traffic load (the information load carried in a specific interval) increases data collitions may occur it the common communication lines, and the transmission effeciency (through put) may deteriorate suddenly

Tree Type

several child nodes are connected to a parent node. The configuration is also adopted, but if the parent node is malfunctioning it will affect all the subordinate node.
